Jingisukan and Yakiniku in One Visit | A Way of Eating Unique to Hokkaido

When planning a meal in Hokkaido, plenty of people hesitate between jingisukan and yakiniku. Both are quintessentially Hokkaido, but they pull in completely different directions.

What lamb and beef each bring

Jingisukan is about the distinctive aroma of lamb and the punch it develops with the sauce and vegetables. Yakiniku, by contrast, is the pleasure of working through the differences in texture and fat from one cut to the next.

Rather than choosing one, tasting them side by side at the same table makes each one’s character much clearer.

We serve both

At YAKINIKU BAR TAMURA Akarenga Terrace, alongside yakiniku centred on A5-grade Hokkaido Wagyu, we also serve jingisukan and sukiyaki – so you can try Hokkaido’s meat dishes in one sitting.

We also have a la carte dishes made with Hokkaido seafood, so your meal does not have to be meat alone.

Easy to fit into a sightseeing schedule

We are connected directly to Sapporo Station via the underground walkway, which makes us easy to drop into between sights or around a journey. Lunch service starts at 11:00.
